9th June

Sea Day. Partly Cloudy Temp 31c 2.5 metre swell giving a small amount of movement of the ship. Had breakfast in our cabin today, as it was hair washing day for my princess. Later we went to the port talk on Istanbul and coffee in the Atrium. At 12 noon there was a lunch for those who are in our Cruise Critic group and in the afternoon I did some finance work on the computer (we have got to keep the $ coming in) I have not mentioned that there are increasing cases of gastro on board so now are not allowed to serve ourselves in the buffet  and even in the dining room the waiters hand you the bread rolls. The Captain in his noon report recommended washing your hands frequently to prevent cross contamination from touching hand rails etc. there was a Passenger Talent Show this afternoon but we have attended similar ones before and they tend to be pretty amateurish so we gave it a miss. We heard reports from people who went and they confirmed our thoughts. The production show “Shimmy” was repeated at 4pm but I had already seen it and Betty was not interested so we did not go. Tonight we did go to see Davidia & Nathan Foley perform with a surprise guest Billy Connelly. Actually it was only someone impersonating him but he was good.  Clocks were put back another hour to get us in line with Dubai time. By the way I am pleased to report that Betty is now much better and will shortly be off medication.
