13/06/14 Sea day Partly Cloudy
Temp 32c
Port talk today was about Kotor
which is a port we have not been to before so it was particularly interesting.
Apart from coffee we did not have much else on this morning. This afternoon
Betty went to a movie “The Book Thief “while I went to have a go at carpet
bowls again. Today was sign up day for the teams they are having between here
and Southampton. We will know what teams we are in tomorrow, I did put Betty’s
name down as well. The Ladies played against the men today, the result was a
draw not that I contributed much. I find the bowls are very tiny but maybe I
will improve. Betty says the movie was
good but that I would not have liked it because it would have brought back memories
of the war.
At dinner tonight
there was just Jan, Bob Betty and I because Bev & Ian had gone for a Pizza.
They both have allergy problems and there was not much on the menu tonight
which suited them. Bev gets to see the menu the night before. We even wondered
if Jan would be at dinner because she suffers from motion sickness and the ship
is starting to move about quite a bit. The Captain has informed us that the forecast
on our route is for gale force winds and a swell of 5.5 metres. Our
entertainment tonight was to hear George Casey an Irish Comedian in the Vista
Lounge. Jan & Bob heard him last night and did not give him a very good
report. We decided to sit near the back so that we could leave if he was no
good. Actually he was just average but we did stay until the end, he told some
jokes that we have heard Tommy Hanlon Jr tell on TV 10 years ago. Bev & Ian were also sitting at the back
so after the show we all went for a Hot Chocolate in the Atrium. Tonight of
course the Socceroos play Chile at 2am our time and it is being broadcast on
our cabin TV. Betty & I decided to get a wakeup call at 2.30am and watch
the rest of the match. When we awoke the Socceroos were 2 nil down but we did
see Tim Cahil score his goal. When Chile scored the third goal we went back to
sleep.
