18th June

Sea Day Temp 29c Sunny & Windy
Quite strong wind today as we continue up the Red Sea. The chop is causing some movement of the ship but nothing to speak of. This afternoon we entered the Gulf of Suez between Africa & the Sinai Peninsula and we can see land from our balcony. We had breakfast in our stateroom today as we only wanted a light breakfast as we went to another Cruse Critic lunch in the dining room. We sat with a couple from Perth and a couple from Craigieburn in Victoria. The Perth couple (Actually Mandura WA) are getting off in Southampton to visit relatives in the Midlands. Before lunch we had another leg of the Greek-Bowl-a-thon this time we played the Blue team who creamed us. I am having trouble handling the small bowls so I do not contribute much. Afterwards more coffee and conversation. This afternoon I went once more with Bev & Ian to see & hear from Marlin this time about Turkey. Unfortunately due to some Rugby game being shown in the Princess Theatre, this lecture was in the Vista Lounge which does not have a very good projector so it did not do justice to his doco. After Dinner we hot footed it up to deck 12 to watch the Socceroos match against Holland which was quite exciting but the result was not what we wanted. Our team played really well but I guess they are now out of the completion.

Watching the Socceroos on the Big Screen and we commence our transit of the Suez Canal.
