15th June

Sea Day Partly Cloudy Temp 30c In the Gulf of Aden .
The Church service today was at 8.45am so we decided to go to that before breakfast. It was led by Rev Alan Male a passenger from a Church of Christ in Queensland. His message was very positive and I will later tell you about it but there is one part I need to check with him. After breakfast Betty wanted to wash her hair so we spent some time in the cabin. I later went to get take a way coffees and went via the library as a few days ago I saw a book in there which I should have borrowed but did not. I thought it may have still been there, it was not but I did get a book written by Lee Iacocca who some may remember ran Chrysler and got them out of a mess. The book is entitled “Where have all the leaders gone” it was written at the end of George W Bush’s Presidency. It somewhat mirrors Australian politics, if you get a chance get it from your local library. At 12.45pm I went to part 2 of the Silk Road lecture by Martin Darrah which was another interesting one about Uzbekistan mainly. The buildings there are very good examples of Islamic architecture.  Also this afternoon we played another game in the Greek Bowl-A-Thon against the Blue team who just managed to beat us. We are now heading for the Red Sea and the sea has calmed down to be almost lake like. People have obviously given up drinking so much as they are no longer weaving down the corridors.   Later on this afternoon  we could have gone to the Dawn Princess Downs Horse Racing or Round 2 of the Dawn Princess Dash or made Paper Mache Urns or attended the Maitre d’ Wine Club or gone to Bingo, at 4.15pm we could have gone to Afternoon Trivia, however Betty wanted to catch up on some photo editing so I was happy to read Iacocca’s book.
Showtime tonight for us was in the Vista Lounge to see and hear the Duo Yalba a Multi-Instrumentalist duo.  They played an assortment of various instruments including Pan Pipes, Flutes, Bagpipes and Drums. While they were very talented it appeared like they were going for a Guinness Book of Records entry for playing the most instruments in one piece of music. They will be preforming again on another night with a fresh lot of instruments but we will not be going to see them .
