8th July

Gibraltar Sunny with some cloud Temp 23c
Gibraltar is a Britsh Overseas Territory located on the southern end of the Iberian at the entrance of the Mediterranean. Because it is so small there is not much to see here except for the Rock, its caves and its Barbary monkeys. There is a cable car to take you most of the way up the rock or you can get there by road. The road is pretty narrow and windy and is only suitable for cars and minibuses. The Rock is over1300ft high and offers commanding views of Gibraltar and the sea beyond. You can clearly see across to Africa. As we have been here before including doing a tour up the Rock and being attacked by a monkey we decided to just go for a walk down the street. Betty had an appointment with the hairdresser at 11.30am so we could not stay out long. I also had an appointment to get a haircut but that was not until 3pm. The stay here was quite short and we sailed for Lisbon at 1.30pm. Tonight we went to see another comedian Mike McClean in the Vista Lounge who was funny in parts and also did some mind reading tricks. He was probably one too many comedians in a row. Tomorrow we will be in Lisbon our last port before Southampton.
