Dublin Cloudy Temp 24c Sunny in the afternoon.
Overnight we sailed north across the Irish Sea and docked in
Dublin about 8am.As previously stated we had decided to use the Hop on Hop Off
bus today so we caught the shuttle bus into town along the River Liffy and it
dropped us off just nearby Trinity College. Trinity College is Ireland’s oldest
university and it is the home to the Book of Kells. As the queue to go inside
was quite long we decided not to wait. The Red Route of the bus took us past
the National Art Gallery, St Stephens Green, Christ Church Cathedral, the Guinness
Storehouse, Kilmainham Gaol and Phoenix Park. This later park is a huge park
which houses the US Embassy, Presidents House and the Zoo as well as a lot of
open space. Once off the bus we went for a walk through Temple Bar which is the
area where all the Pub nightlife is. It was quiet when we were there but it was
great for photos. We did intend to have a late lunch in an Irish Pub but when
we started to look for a suitable place we they were all full so we caught the
shuttle back to the ship to have lunch there. Coral had gone off to do some
Genealogy so we did not see her until dinner time. Before we sailed we were
entertained in the Princess Theatre by Gaels Afloat a Folkloric Show which was
quite good. Dinner tonight was open seating because some tours got back late.
When we got to our table 4 other people were sitting there. They are 4 from the
late sitting. Only Coral, Betty & I came from our normal lot.
In Dublin there are lots of statues, some alive and some dead.Shopping Mall
