Sea Day. Fine partly cloudy.Temp 29C. Smooth seas and the
Captain says we should have the same all the way to Singapore.
Another port talk today, which surprised us, because it was
on Colombo, which is quite away off. Once again she dazzled us with choices of
things to do while we are there but she did warn us that the traffic can be
frightening. She said that even on the ships tours it pays not to sit in the
front row if you have a weak heart. After this talk I decided to give the guest
lecturer another try for his lecture entitled “The Incredible Life of Ramses
the Great” However when I got there he
seemed be talking about opera again which is not to my liking so I left. Today
the buffet theme was Mexican so we indulged. I just hope I did not eat too much
spicey food from which I may suffer later.
Dancing today was the Foxtrot, which as you all know is
quick, quick , slow quick, quick. At least that is what John said. Unfortunately John spends about the first
half hour of the session on progressive dances and today it was the progressive
jive. The floor is so crowded that people are falling over each other. Betty
& I usually sit out until the real dancing starts. Usually if we get there
early John is able to put on some music so that we can practise what we did the
day before but today when we got to the Vista the choir were practising so we
sat and listened to them. They will perform later on in the cruise .
A bonus today was that a Tea Dance was programmed in the
afternoon with all the waiters in dinner suits and white gloves, serving
afternoon tea. The ship’s band played for dancing. It is unusual these days to
have the opportunity to dance to a live 7 piece band, we had a really good
time.
Showtime tonight in the Princess Theatre was Michael Votano
and Simon McKinney we had of course seen both of previous nights but tonight
was new material and both were good. Another hot chocolate while listening to
David Crathorne in the Atrium finished off our night.
