Brisbane. 25C. pleasantly warm. We had docked before we woke
but as we only intended to catch the shuttle bus into town we were in no hurry
to get going. About 10am we took the shuttle at a cost of $8 each way. $8 is
the standard charge irrespective of the distance and they would not be making
money out of this trip because it took over half an hour to travel in.
Apparently a ship which has Brisbane as its home port was at the normal
terminal and we were out at the grain terminal not that it worried us.
We had a little list of things we wanted to buy which we had
left till now to avoid carrying them from home. After we had got all of them we
headed back to the ship for a late lunch. Not much doing in the afternoon
except to put up all our photos which we bought with us to remind us of home
now that we had sufficient small magnets from the Reject shop. (photo
enclosed). We left Kenny in charge of the cabin while we were away but we think
he slept all the time. ( I must be getting senile talking about a stuffed toy
like this)
Entertainment tonight in the Princess Theatre was Patrick
Roberts billed as Australia’s Andrew Rieu. Actually if you went there expecting
him to be like Andrew you would have been disappointed however he was a very
good showman and he certainly can play the violin. The theatre was packed and
we had to sit in the front row, not a good position with all the lighting
effects he used.
